Below you’ll find all of the information for the strike and picket that will taking place on the 20th.
Where: In front of Henry Mayo along Mcbean
When: 6AM Monday, March 20th – 430 AM Tuesday, March 21st
Parking
Workers can park in the Granary Square Shopping Center parking lot, or in the residential parking in the neighborhood across the street from the hospital.
Do not park in the Henry Mayo parking lot, or in the parking lot of Valencia United Methodist Church.
Checking-in
The check-in station will be in the Parking lot of the Valencia United Methodist Church, right across the Street from Henry Mayo. Everyone must check-in at the check in station when we arrive. From the check-in station you will be directed to a picket location.
Throughout the day, you’ll be able to find water, snacks, and answers to your questions at the check-in station.
Where will we be Picketing?
We will have three main picket locations: One at the main hospital entrance on the corner of McBean and Orchard Village Rd another at the hospital entrance on the corner of McBean and Ave Navarre, and another at the entrance on the west side of campus near Alegro Drive.
If we see traffic directed to a forth entrance, like the one near the outpatient surgery center, we may direct some pickets there. Be prepared to be flexible.
What should you bring/wear?
- A red shirt
- A layer of waterproof clothing
- Water and Snacks to share
- Lawn Chairs
- Home made signs that don’t say anything offensive or derogatory
What will the union be providing?
- Printed Picket Signs
- Red Rain Ponchos
- Coffee and Donuts in the morning
- Lunch at 1pm
- Dinner in the evening
